A large health plan in Pennsylvania turns benefit product builds in 7 days with eBenefitSync, meeting enrollment goals

Simplify Healthcare launches industry’s first automated CMS PBP Medicare Product Configuration and Document Generation solution

eBenefitSync was named a sole leader by IDC in the US Health Plan Product/Plan Benefit Configuration Solutions 2016 Vendor Assessment.

SOUTHFIELD, MI – August 13, 2018 – Simplify Healthcare, the market leader in benefit plan configuration, announced the outcome of automating the benefit product configuration process using its flagship solution eBenefitSync™ at a leading health plan in central Pennsylvania.

With more than half a million members and a very high growth rate, it has been an ongoing challenge for this health plan to deal with high volumes of new groups and renewals during the enrollment season and meet tight timelines. Like most other health plans, their past dependence on complex, manual and error-prone benefit product configuration processes had been creating a major bottleneck every year especially during Q4 open enrollment activities.

"Our plan is an early adopter of technology and we were already looking to digitize our benefit product lifecycle. One option was to custom build a system in-house, but after further evaluation, we found eBenefitSync and decided to become an early adopter for automating the product configuration process in 2016" said the CIO.

The Director of Business Solutions and Delivery added, “We are very excited to see the outcome of our adoption of eBenefitSync. Our product configuration team had an outstanding open enrollment season – we consistently turned around our benefit product builds within 7 calendar days but more importantly with quality. We were able to get more done with our existing team. For the first time in recent years, we met all our performance and speed-to-market goals for 2017-18 enrollment season. Our mini-peak July 2018 enrollment boasted an average product configuration turnaround time of just under 3 calendar days”.

eBenefitSync is now the source of truth for all the benefit product information across this health plan. Our goal now is to integrate with their Salesforce sales and quoting solution and automate the end-to-end quote to card process,” said Mark Manning, Chief Growth Officer of Simplify Healthcare.

The two companies have a shared vision of improving the experience of healthcare consumers. I see this as an important and strategic relationship with a very successful and innovative health plan. I am delighted that with our next generation technology, this innovative health plan has realized measurable outcomes that will positively influence the lives of hundreds of thousands of its members. Our SaaS-based platform offers health plans unique capabilities to automate benefit product configuration, provider data and contract management and value-based reimbursement,” said Mohammed Vaid, CEO and Chief Architect of Simplify Healthcare.
